XOLAIR® is an injectable medication, obtained only by prescription, which treats two conditions: allergic asthma and Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria (CIU). The injections are administered under the skin by a nurse or doctor every 2 to 4 weeks.
Candidates for XOLAIR are:

Asthma patients 6 years of age or older whose asthma can’t be controlled by inhaled corticosteroids.

CIU patients who are 12 years of age or older whose hives can’t be controlled by H1 antihistamine treatments.
